Together for Nevada

The Behavioral Health Association of Nevada (BHAN) was established by Steve Shell, MBA in 2023 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to be inclusive of any individual who works in or supports behavioral health. The vision of BHAN is to build a statewide coalition of behavioral health professionals, elected officials, leaders in the public and private sectors, and other interested individuals to work together to overcome the behavioral health and addiction challenges throughout Nevada.

For many years Nevada has not been favorably ranked in national comparisons for suicide and drug overdose rates, prevalence of behavioral health and addiction issues, access to treatment, and the number of behavioral health professionals needed to adequately serve the population. BHAN will advocate for solutions to improve prevention, intervention and treatment efforts and help develop strategic plans tailored to the unique needs of every urban, rural and frontier community to move Nevada forward.

Mission Statement

The Behavioral Health Association of Nevada’s mission is to promote statewide collaboration among behavioral health professionals and allies through active engagement in policy development and communications strategies to increase focus on prevention and improve accessibility and sustainability of treatment and recovery options for all Nevada residents.
